Awkwafina An American singer and actress began by releasing a humorous rap track which dealt with the subject of sexuality and race. Her career expanded to Hollywood following the release of several rap songs. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was in the form of the trumpet. After classical and Jazz training She delved into hip-hop when she was an teen. Following a focus on education, she earned a degree in journalism in college and a women's studies degree. She didn't start focusing on music until she completed her degree. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet sensation and featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. Other viral hits included the queef track and the eye-catching NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. This track was directly linked with another Awkwafina project NYC a travel guide published in 2015. With musician and author as her credentials, she set her sights on acting in a third project. In addition to early series like Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several major roles like Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
